As a new Neurosomatic Specialist and someone who has benefitted NST for quite some time, Patricia is excited to continue her professional Fitness and Wellness career with this therapy that helps people become the better versions of themselves. Seeing her patients’ recovery efforts and therapies work more effectively is her favorite part, and true recovery made possible is what happens when the root cause of pain or dysfunction is addressed.

In 2017, Patricia suffered a spinal cord injury in a four-wheeling accident leaving her a level T12/L1 incomplete paraplegic, but with no movement or feeling below her waist. She had been working professionally as a Fitness & Wellness Director at Clemson University after receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management & Event Planning and a Master’s degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education. While recovering, she spent about two years in a wheelchair while relearning to walk with a walker, forearm crutches, and then her pimp cane (which you may still see her with from time to time). But she did not really feel recovered or very functional when she reached the limits of the traditional medical model, since they only wanted to provide her with medications, surgeries, and assistive devices she was not interested in. A strange twist of fate led her to discover NST and immediately she knew this was what would help her recover more than anyone thought possible.

She strongly believes this is the missing link for pain treatment and issues of all kinds, no matter how confident traditional healthcare is on the issue. Helping others find wellbeing from within was already her life-long passion, and experiencing and overcoming a disability has only made it stronger. She couldn’t be any more grateful for her journey so far, and is looking forward to bringing her personal and professional knowledge together to help others at The Overton Clinic!
